05Shared energy use 2026 · B1 & B2

Funding for energy communities and shared generation

The programme “Gemeinsame Energienutzung 2026” funds energy sharing projects in the local area (Nahebereich), for example energy communities, shared generation plants and peer-to-peer. Applications run from 1 October 2026, 12:00, to 10 March 2027, 12:00, at umweltfoerderung.at.

B1Shared storage

Shared battery storage: 30%, up to €100,000

Up to 250 kWh: approved on a rolling basis. Over 250 kWh: selected by an expert jury.

  • New, stationary battery that can feed into the grid, at least 100 kWh net
  • At least 75% of its yearly energy comes from the project’s renewable plants
  • Used jointly within the project for at least five years
  • Installation and commissioning by a specialist company
  • At least one comparison offer per main item
  • Eligible: battery, charging and control management, metering, gateways and control technology, planning up to 10%

With Reduxi (optional): Reduxi can control the shared battery in line with the project, for example charging from surplus PV and discharging when members need electricity.

B2Digitalisation

Digitalisation and flexibility: 50%, up to €10,000

Approved on a rolling basis while the budget of €2 million lasts.

  • Existing, active energy sharing project in the local area
  • Consulting is required: hardware or software alone is not eligible
  • Eligible: installation of smart meter readers, information and visualisation tools for real-time data and forecasts, central control of generation, storage and consumers, sensors and communication
  • Meets at least two of six criteria, for example reducing generation and load peaks, or digitalisation to optimise members’ consumption
  • Not eligible: ongoing software use, receipts under €100 net, services from affiliated companies

Reduxi fits B2 best: smart meter readers, real-time platform and consulting in one package, see below.

B2Digitalisation

The Reduxi package for B2: 50% funded

Reduxi reads every member’s smart meter, brings the data together on one platform in real time and uses it to shift consumption to when the community’s own electricity is available.

Reduxi also offers the smart meter readers, so hardware, platform and consulting come from one source.

1

Smart meter readers for all membersReduxi P1 Ultra reads consumption and feed-in at each grid connection
2

Real-time platformOne-off set-up that brings together and visualises the data of all members
3

Active control (optional)Reduxi Controller and Gateway for storage, heat pumps and charging points
4

Consulting and set-upRequired for the funding, provided by Reduxi

Example: a package of €20,000 net receives the maximum funding of €10,000. Ongoing platform subscriptions are not eligible. Invoice the readers together, as single receipts under €100 net do not count.

Frequently asked questions about energy management funding

Still unsure? Call us on +43 676 361 89 51.

Can I get funding for a system I have already bought?

No. In every programme you must register or apply before placing any binding order.

Who is allowed to install the system?

For A1, A2 and B1, a licensed specialist company. For A1 and A2 they confirm the minimum functions on the claim form.

What is the accompanying research?

Only for A1 and A2: if you share operating data for research, you get a bonus of €100 for households or €1,000 for businesses.

How long is the funding available?

A1 and A2: until 15 April 2027, as long as the budget of €2.45 million per programme lasts. B1 and B2: from 1 October 2026 to 10 March 2027.

Will there be funding for battery storage in 2027?

The federal government has announced a further PV funding framework from 2027 with a focus on storage, including retrofitting storage to existing PV systems. As of September 2026 nothing has been decided and no amounts or rates have been published. Shared battery storage is already funded with 30% under B1.

What does Enixi do?

Enixi only handles the billing for energy communities (EEG) and shared generation plants (GEA). Energy management is always done by Reduxi; other operating modes such as dynamic tariffs are billed by your energy supplier.
