A particular focus was placed on the integration and optimization of a shared generation facility (GEA).<\/p>\n<p><b>What is a GEA?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A shared generation facility (Gemeinschaftliche Erzeugungsanlage \u2013 GEA) enables multiple usage units \u2014 such as apartments in a multi-family building \u2014 to jointly use electricity generated by a central PV system. Instead of simply feeding electricity into the grid, the energy is distributed locally to where it is needed at that moment. This significantly increases self-consumption and reduces feed-in to the public grid.<\/p>\n<p>Technically, this is achieved through a central energy management system that collects real-time data from the grid operator\u2019s smart meters for each individual unit. At the same time, current PV production and the state of charge of the batteries are taken into account. The REDUXI Controller analyzes this information in real time and controls energy distribution with second-level precision: first supplying direct consumption, then charging the batteries.<\/p>\n<p>GEAs are based on defined grid-technical and legal frameworks, such as \u00a7 16a of the Austrian Electricity Industry and Organization Act (ElWOG). A metrologically compliant billing system ensures that each unit pays only for its actual consumption. The REDUXI Controller uses this data to control the entire system flexibly and according to demand \u2014 depending on consumption, time of day, and PV generation.<\/p>\n<p>Of particular note is the nighttime discharge of the batteries:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven when no PV production is available, the system ensures fair and efficient supply. In this case, the self-sufficiency rate was increased from around 35 % (PV only) to approximately 70 % \u2014 solely through the combination of battery storage and intelligent distribution within the GEA,\u201d reports Johann Lom\u0161ek, CEO of Reduxi DACH GmbH, with pride.<\/p>\n<p>The installation was carried out by ELKOtec Smart Energy GmbH. Managing Director Ing. Werner Konrad emphasizes:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe integration was technically demanding, but the result demonstrates what is already possible today. The solution is future-proof and scalable. The M-TEC battery systems and electricity meters were integrated and connected to monitoring. In addition, the grid operator\u2019s smart meters were configured for data communication via the P1 interface. For this purpose, the Reduxi P1 Ultra converter was used, seamlessly transferring smart meter data to the controller. Technical support was provided by Alex from the REDUXI DACH team.<\/p>\n<p><b>Future-Proof Through Remote Access<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Via the REDUXI Cloud, full remote access to the energy management system is available \u2014 location-independent and in real time. Monitoring, fault diagnosis, software updates, and configuration adjustments can all be performed remotely at any time, without requiring technicians on site.<\/p>\n<p>This not only saves time and operating costs but also significantly improves response speed when optimizations or issues arise. Especially for more complex installations with multiple generators, storage systems, and consumers, this digital access represents a decisive advantage \u2014 for operators, installers, and residents alike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strength of our system lies in consistent real-time optimization.
