Reduxi Controller: The System Core<\/b><\/p>\n
The first step was installing a Reduxi Controller in the meter cabinet. It acts as the central interface between the building, the grid connection point, and the charging infrastructure. A P1 Ultra Plus smart meter reader is also deployed to capture meter data and feed it to the Controller in real time. This allows the EMS to continuously monitor building consumption and determine how much power is available for EV charging.<\/p>\n
Measurement at this integration point is critical: it ensures the office building’s own consumption is covered reliably before any charging capacity is allocated. From there, the system decides in real time how much energy can be directed to vehicle charging.<\/p>\n
Grid Charging Based on Dynamic Electricity Prices<\/b><\/p>\n
Energy sourcing is fully flexible. Power is drawn from the grid, and the Reduxi Controller optimizes charging decisions based on EPEX SPOT market prices, scheduling charge delivery when prices are lowest. The car park is in use daily from 07:00 to 17:00, so the EMS shifts and delays charging so that the full load runs around midday, when SPOT prices are most favorable. This approach integrates the charging infrastructure directly into the site’s broader energy system.<\/p>\n
Fair Distribution Across All Charging Points<\/b><\/p>\n
A central requirement was equitable load distribution. Available capacity must not be consumed uncontrolled by individual charging points; instead, it is distributed dynamically across all connected go-e stations. This allows multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously without overloading the grid connection.<\/p>\n
For a fleet of wallboxes, dynamic load management is a necessity. Reduxi provides centralized control that adjusts charging power in real time to match available capacity, grid connection limits, and competing loads across the building.
